Matthew K. Firpo

Matthew K. Firpo is a New York-based director and photographer, and a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He is a founding partner of MAGNA CARTA, and was named one of Forbes' 30 Under 30 in 2016.

Born and raised in San Francisco, he’s been making movies since he was eight years old. His focus on powerful storytelling has won him Best Director at the AdWeek Watch Awards, the TimeWarner Emerging Filmmakers Grant, and the Tisch Commendation for Excellence in Directing. As a photographer, he’s shot editorials and covers all over the world, from Jaipur to Joshua Tree, and has lead expeditions from Mount Whitney to the Swiss Alps. In 2016, Matthew spent a month in Greece creating THE REFUGE PROJECT, a multimedia chronicle of human stories from the Syrian refugee crisis - and has since worked with UNICEF on a documentary series highlighting local programs from around the world.

His work for commercial clients like TINDER, CHASE BANK, and UNITED AIRLINES as generated tens of millions of views, and has been featured everywhere from Times Square billboards, to the front page of AdWeek. He likes incredible things.
